Marianna & Jeff : Helsinki Hudson Wedding :: NY Cinematography

Marianna & Jeff are a dynamic couple whose wedding day began and ended as perfectly as one could dream of! The couple had contacted me 3 weeks prior to their wedding and as luck may have it, I was available to capture their special day.  One could compare this to an end zone play, where the quarterback throws a Hail Mary into the end zone for the win!  I use this sports reference as a nod to both the bride and groom, who are both extremely competitive athletes.  This could be exemplified at the coin toss that occurred at the ceremony to see whose vows were to be read first.

The day commenced in two apartments, close to the venue, that were rented on Air B&B. I had never met Marianna in person prior to this big day. However, upon arrival, I was greeted with a warm welcome and smile.  The bridal party had just finished their hair and makeup and it was now time for the bride.  The makeup was done by the amazing Erin Marie of Erin Marie Artistry and the beautiful floral bouquets were done by a local florist, Flower Blossom Farm.  One of the most special moments I captured was the bride’s reveal with her mother. Marianna was adamant that while we were filming the dress, we not let her mother see it.  Due to time constraints, we couldn’t do the reveal where we had originally planned, so I captured her dramatic first walk down the hallway.  It was truly a special moment and I was honored to have been a part of it.

The ceremony and reception both took place at the beautiful Helsinki Hudson in the cute town of Hudson, NY.  This rustic brick building dons traditional wood paneling inside and hanging Edison lights.  A 49 person wedding made for an intimate and personal feel.  It was misty all day, but there was a small window of time in which I was able to get the drone up for some amazing aerials.  This view allowed me to capture the town from above, as well as the Hudson River.  Marianna and Jeff prepared a script for the officiant to read, which included the rings being passed around for everyone to see before they got to the couple. This was in lieu of a traditional ring bearer. I thought this was such a neat idea!  The pronouncing of the “Husband and Wife” followed the famous Pickle back shot that started it all.

The evening concluded with a sparkler send off and was the picture perfect ending to a beautiful day.  I wish Marianna and Jeff a long life of health and happiness!

I hope you enjoy this trailer of their day.
